Informal Reading Evaluations

Does your child hate reading, but you don't know why? Do you suspect they might have some gaps in their reading skills, but you aren't sure how to help?

A reading evaluation by a skilled Orton-Gillingham practitioner can help identify learning gaps in your child's foundational reading skills.
We will meet online with your child so they can be comfortable in their own home, and use gentle methods to build rapport and make the experience stress-free.

Kids & Parents Say:

"When I was in 1st Grade, I kind of gave up on reading and didn't tell anyone. Now, I enjoy it like a hobby instead of it being a chore."
Enjoying Reading!

Stacia has been working with my son since he was in 1st grade (now going into 4th). My son has dyslexia and reading and writing caused him a lot of anxiety. Stacia has been so patient and always makes her time with him so fun. He has blossomed. His reading and writing skills have improved greatly. She has been vital in the building of my sons confidence as a student.

My kid told me after school today, “Mom! I’m becoming a good reader all because of Ms. Stacia!” Priceless, thank you! He knows it, we know it. His work with you has been transformational. He said this to me after being able to read signs at the zoo this afternoon.

Happy news that we have seen a jump in our child's writing coming home from school - both in volume and complexity. He also told us last week, "Can you believe I didn't like reading when I was in first grade and now I love it."

Absolutely would recommend Stacia Rosenau! My son has made wonderful improvements working with her. Her lesson plans are very customized to each child, you can see lesson notes to know exactly what they worked on each time, and she does a great job keeping my son engaged, which can be a struggle. He enjoys working with her so much that he never complains when it’s time for tutoring.

Student Learning in Action!

Silent-e has a lot of different names depending on the materials you use to teach it – Bossy E, Sneaky E, Ninja E.  One of my 2nd Graders decided she didn’t like any of those because they sounded too negative.  So, she created her own!  Introducing Giving E, giving the vowel the power to say it’s name!  (Posted with permission.)
